The empirical data that supports the healthy and flavorful qualities of our meat has been obtained with about 20 years of research. The hypothesis that began the research was simple; "What changed in humans' diet in the last 100 years?" and "What diseases did humans succumb to in the last 100 years?"
What was found, and the data supports this, was that the meats that humans consumed 100 years ago came from pastures of grasses and not grain fed. Starting in about 1950 CAFOs started to become the norm and grain the feed. This period in time is when humans started to die from degenerative diseases such as diabetes, dementia, Alzheimer's etc. and not infectious diseases like influenza, pneumonia, etc..
The research then looked at many different combinations and food sources. The startling fact that came to the surface was the ratios associated with the Omega 3s and Omega 6s. These fats are the core of the essential fatty acids the human body needs for metabolic functions. Omega 3s are antioxidative and the Omega 6s are oxidative. When animals digest grasses and forages they maintain a ratio of three Omega 6s to one Omega 3. Ratios of grain fed animals range from six Omega 6s to one Omega 3 and in some cases much higher. This ratio is very oxidative. Third party tests in our Omega Balanced Natural Beef have shown a healthy two Omega 6s to one Omega 3. Even the fat from these animals is healthy to eat.
